PICKENS – The City of Pickens can now add its annual Founder’s Day Music Festival to the new amphitheater’s list of featured events.

The Founder’s Day Music Festival is a free event and will take place this Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. on West Main Street in Pickens and will feature a variety of family events including live music at the city’s new outdoor amphitheater, 1800’s medicine show, food and beverages, arts and crafts and face-painting for kids. Fireworks will follow that.

“We’re excited for the Founder’s Day Music Festival this year with all the new additions,” said Allison Fowler, executive director of the Pickens Revitalization Association. “We had a great response from sponsors and vendors and are looking forward to a wonderful day of family fun and entertainment.”

Live bands will include the Deja Bluegrass Band, Pine Top Revival, Most Wanted Bluegrass, Volume 5, Blue Flame Bluegrass Band, Sweet Potato Pie Kids, and The Travelling McCollums.

The event will conclude with a fireworks show at 8:45 p.m.
