Amanda Carlson, a junior at Powdersville High School, is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award Project, raising awareness of the Greenville Humane Society, a no-kill facility. She has spread her message at several churches and manned information booths at grocery stores. The Humane Society is a nonprofit organization that provides services such as spaying, neutering, immunization, grooming, pet adoption and selling pet supplies. The Humane Society can be supported by volunteering time walking the dogs, working in the puppy and kitten room or pet therapy. The Humane Society needs items that can be identified from wish list located on www.greenvillehumane.com. Carlson, right, is shown here turning in wish list donations to the Greenville Humane Society’s Adoption Manager, Sarah Kernan.
