PIEDMONT – A Piedmont woman is dead after hitting her head on a rocky bank of the Saluda River Sunday afternoon.

Officials with the Anderson County Coroner’s Office say 23-year-old Anna J. Mosley died from blunt-forced trauma and was found at around 6 p.m. in a section of the river near Prospect Street in Piedmont.

Anderson County Deputies say they responded after receiving a call reporting Mosley missing. A relative of Mosley’s told authorities he had seen someone in the river.

Mosley had been missing for four days, police say.

The Anderson Technical Rescue Team, the Anderson County dive team, and Pelzer Emergency Services responded to the scene to assist with the recovery.

Mosley was found at the base of the dam in four-foot-deep water, officials say.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting in the investigation.
