Flatpicking guitar, banjo workshops are March 1 in Simpsonville

SIMPSONVILLE — Guitarist Steve Kaufman and banjoist Gary Davis will present all-level flatpicking guitar and all-level banjo workshops on March 1 at the Simpsonville Art Center, 110 Academy St.

Kaufman is the three-time winner of the National Flatpicking Championships and Davis is a four-time National Banjo Champion.

The workshops will be separate three-hour sessions from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 1 and will cover core picking skills and techniques, repertoire and building blocks for growth. Kaufman and Davis will also cover right and left hand technique, drills and skills, and many other valuable aspects of flatpicking guitar and bluegrass banjo.

Small groups and some individual attention make this workshop valuable for flatpicking guitarists at all levels of experience.

The fee for either all-level workshops is $50 per person. Pre-registration is required. Seating is limited.
