WALHALLA — The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed more charges against a Westminster man already facing several counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Casey D. Gaines, 35, of 107 John Smith Road was charged Feb. 9 with one count of criminal sexual conduct with a minor with the victim being 11 to 14 years of age and two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor with the victim being under 16 years old.
On Feb. 27, Gaines was charged with another count of criminal sexual conduct with a minor stemming from an incident that involved a different female.
According to warrants, Gaines is accused of having sex with a then 10-year-old female between Jan. 1, 2004, and July 31, 2004, at a location in Westminster.
According to investigators, Gaines is accused of having sexual intercourse with a then 12 year old female from September 2010 through November 2010.
Gaines is also accused, according to warrants, of engaging in sex with a then 14 year old in May 2012. Finally, investigators charged Gaines with engaging in sex with a 15 year old minor in August 2013.
The final two allegations involve a girl who Gaines was in a “familial, custodial, and/or authority position to coerce the victim.”
The charges listed in the warrants involve only one female victim. All the incidents occurred in Westminster.
The total surety bond amount on the three original charges was $60,000. He bonded out of the Oconee County Detention Center on Feb. 22 and was turned over to Newberry County on unrelated charges. He was returned to Oconee County on Feb. 27.
