PICKENS – Registration is underway at the Pickens County Museum of Art & History for Summer Studio Art Sessions for children and adults under the direction of Renee Gillespie.
The cost of the classes is $78 for museum members and $88 for all others. Pre-registration is required. Tuition must be paid prior to the first class. No refunds after start of class. Class size is limited.
Classes will be held June 10, June 17, June 24, July 8, July 15 and July 22 in the Liz Smith-Cox Educational Studio. Class will not be held July 1.
Children’s Summer Studio Art will be offered from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for children ages 8 to 14. This class will encourage artistic youth to develop and refine their art skills and creativity while they learn to use acrylics, watercolors, pastels and collage techniques to create their works of art. Art supplies are included in tuition fee.
Adult Painting Class will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This session is open to those who paint with acrylics or watercolors. Each student will receive individual instruction at each class. Instruction will be based on the painter’s skill level. Students will provide their own supplies. Supply list, if needed, will be given at first class.
Gillespie has a bachelor’s degree in art from Washington College in Chestertown, Md., and has also studied at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Students will be notified if a class is cancelled or filled. All tuition will be reimbursed if the class is cancelled.
