Stapleton named principal of Pickens Middle School

PICKENS — Reggia Stapleton has been named the new principal of Pickens Middle School beginning next school year.

Stapleton will transfer to Pickens Middle School from Easley High School, where she served this year as Principal of Graduation Advancement Programs. She served as the director of the John T. Simpson Alternative Program from 2011-2013.

She began her career in education as a teacher at Parker Middle School in 1985. She went on to teach at Easley Junior High School (later Gettys Middle School) and Easley High School. In 2005 she became an assistant principal at Pickens Middle School. She also served as assistant director at John T. Simpson and as interim principal of R.C. Edwards Middle School.

Stapleton holds Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Sociology and Secondary Education from Clemson University and a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Clemson University.

Her honors and memberships include being named the 2012-2013 South Carolina Business and Professional Woman of Accomplishment of the Year, member of Who’s Who Among American Teachers, and member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.
