April 11

• The S.C. Botanical Garden at Clemson University hosts Ali Riehm in concert from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the amphitheater. Admission is free.

April 11 & April 12

• The 12th anniversary of The Family Unity Festival is held April 11 and April 12. The fashion and talent show will be held at 7 p.m. at The Dream Center Auditorium, 200 W. D Ave. in Easley. Admission is free. The Unity Festival is held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12 and the Unity Parade will be held at 1 p.m. on Main Street.

April 13-19

• The third annual Clemson Blues Festival is held featuring The Swingin’ Medallions, Mac Arnold and Plate Full O’Blues, Greenville’s True Blues Band and ReggaeInfinity. Visit www.clemsonbluesfest.org for the schedule of events and more information.

April 14

• A service of recognition is held at 1:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Pickens for the Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem for their service to the children of Pickens County. A reception will be held after the event. Sen. Larry Martin and Rep. Davey Hiott will present the recognition.

Dr. Bruce E. Baker gives a lecture from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in Hardin Hall at Clemson University on A.F. Lever an the Cotton Futures Act of 1914. Baker grew up in Easley and graduated from Clemson in 1992. He is currently a lecturer in American history at Newcastle University in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

• The April Steppin’ It Up Coalition meeting is held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Clemson Police Department, 1198 Tiger Blvd. Meetings are open to anyone interested in educating youth on the dangers of alcohol, tobacco use and drug use.

April 16

• The Easley Business and Professional Women’s April meeting is held at 12:30 p.m. at Fatz Cafe. The speaker will be Nicole Hemphill with the Rape Crisis Council of Pickens County. April 22

• Carolina Oral and Facial Surgery gives free oral cancer screenings from noon to 4 p.m. at their office, 838 Powdersville Road, Suite E in Easley. Call 864-442-6564 for more information or to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will be taken but appointments are preferred.

Outside Pickens County

Anderson County

Foothills Alliance hosts Walk A Mile in Her Shoes at 7 p.m. April 10 in Carolina Wren Park on East Whitner Street in Anderson. Men will walk a few blocks in women’s shoes as a way to raise awareness about sexual violence and show support for survivors. Women and children are also invited to participate.

Anderson Districts 1 and 2 hold their annual spring plant sale. Plants will be available from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through April 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 17 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18. Plants also will be sold from April 21 through April 30 at varying times during the day. The sale will take place at 702 Belton Highway.

Alverson Center Theatre, 133 Whitner St. in Anderson, holds auditions for Oklahoma! at 3 p.m. April 13 and 6 p.m. April 14. Auditions are open to adults and children. Come prepared to sing.

Hospice of the Upstate is offering a five-week educational grief series at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 14, April 21, April 28 and May 5. The meetings will be held at the Randall E. Sadler Bereavement & Education Center located at Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road in Anderson. Sessions are free. Call 328-1950 to reserve a seat.

Greenville County

The Producers is staged at Centre Stage, 501 River St. in Greenville, through April 19 on Thursday through Sunday of each week. Tickets range from $25 to $35.
