PICKENS COUNTY — An anonymous tip led sheriff’s deputies to a residence on Carolina Court in Taylors where they arrested a woman wanted in connection with a car chase on Aug. 7.

Tracy Renee Scivedge, 43, of 10 Old Anderson Road North in Greenville, had been wanted by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department in connection with the Aug. 7 arrest of James Allen Pope. Pope allegedly refused to yield to blue lights and led sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase from Fishtrap Road down S.C. 123, and into Greenville County.

Deputies recovered two handguns that were thrown from the suspect’s car during the pursuit.

The chase ended after damage was sustained to the front wheel of the car. Pope and Scivedge abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Pope was arrested at the scene. The Nissan Altima had been previously reported stolen from Greenville County. A pocketbook containing a quantity of methamphetamines was also discovered at the scene.

Scivedge is being detained in the Pickens County Detention Center on charges of possession of methamphetamines and unlawful carrying of a pistol.
