EASLEY — An Easley armed robbery ended with three suspects in the hospital Tuesday night.

Local law enforcement officials say two men robbed the 93 Quick Stop on Liberty Drive at gunpoint at about 6:58 p.m. Tuesday, firing a shot in the direction lone female employee.

Major Tim Tollison with the Easley Police Department said the two suspects made off with an unknown amount of cash and merchandise. The Quick Stop employee was not injured.

“Witnesses outside, behind the store said that the two black males exited the store and ran around back and got into a grey/silver in color Ford Taurus driven by a white female,” Tollison said in a statement. “The suspects got away with an unknown amount of cash and merchandise at this time.”

Tollison said a short time later, officers from the Easley Police Department and the Pickens County Sheriff’s office found a vehicle with three people inside matching the description of both the car and the suspects on Adger Road.

Officers said they attempted to stop the vehicle, but after the vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Rosa Lupita Martinez refused to stop, a chase ensued.

Tollison said while the officers were attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver tried to make an abrupt turn off of SC Hwy 178 onto Ruhammah road, striking a power pole.

Tollison said the three suspects in the vehicle were taken into custody.

All three suspects were transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital by EMS.

The two male suspects were not identified by police as of Wednesday morning.

Charges against the suspects are pending, police say.

The accident from the pursuit is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
