EASLEY — A Pickens County man wanted in connection with two attempted murders is behind bars after being arrested around 1 p.m. Tuesday by U.S. Marshals in Chamblee, Ga., a small town close to Atlanta.

Jason Allen Larson had been on the run from law enforcement since April 9 when he became the suspect in an attempted double homicide at 408 Highland Road in Easley. One unidentified man remains at Greenville Memorial Hospital in stable condition as a result of the shooting.

The second charge of attempted murder is the result of Larson’s alleged shots fired at an unidentified female who was in the residence at the time.

“The Marshal’s task force in our area got word he (Larson) was in Georgia and began to run down any leads they could at the time,” said Major Tim Tollison of the Easley Police Department. “Once they had a place to start, Larson was arrested without incident at a hotel where he was staying alone.”

Next will be extradition proceedings, he said.

“He’ll get a bond hearing in Georgia and of course our Solicitor’s Office will be prepared, but at that time he will have to decide if he is going to fight extradition,” Tollison said. “If he decides to waive it, we will go pick him up. If he decides to fight it, it will go to court and we’ll have to wait for the court to decide.”

At approximately 8:39 p.m. April 9, Larson reportedly arrived at 408 Highland Road looking for the unidentified male victim in the case. Shots were fired in an upstairs apartment. Larson left the scene in the company of an unidentified female.

Once extradition is determined for Larson, local law enforcement will begin gathering more details in their investigation.

“Once he is back here in our custody, we’ll get a chance to talk with him, and maybe get more details of that night,” Tollison said. “At this point that’s where we are in the investigation.”
