EASLEY – Easley High School will now be in search of a new athletic director following Chris Carter’s abrupt departure after four years in the position.
He has accepted a position as a social studies teacher at Daniel High School.
According to a post on Facebook Friday, Carter was informed during a meeting on that day that he would no longer be athletic director at Easley High School and would now assume the role of social studies teacher at Daniel High.
“We are grateful for his years of hard work and dedication to EHS,” said Easley High School Principal, Dr. Tim Mullis. “The district is working on finding an interim athletic director for the remainder of this school year.”
The school district expressed confidence in Carter’s new role at Daniel High and gratitude for his services while still in Easley.
“The district is confident the students at DHS will benefit from his experience as a teacher, and we appreciate what he accomplished during his tenure as athletic director at Easley High, particularly in transitioning the athletic programs into their new facilities,” said SDPC Public Information Specialist, John Eby.
