Summer Feiste, Julia Blouin, Jason Williams, Dilani Rajapakse and John Thomas Turpin from R.C. Edwards Middle School recently took part in the school science fair. Turpin won first place, Rajapakse won second place, Williams won third place, Feiste won fourth place and Blouin won fifth.

CENTRAL — R.C. Edwards Middle School recently announced the winning students and projects from the school science fair in February.


John Thomas Turpin was awarded first place for “Storming the Castle;” Dilani Rajapakse was awarded second place for “Can Spices Kill Bacteria?;”Jason Williams was awarded third place for “The Gaming Master;” Summer Feiste was awarded fourth place for “Rocketology;” and Julia Blouin was awarded fifth place for “Temperature Time.”


The students represented Edwards Middle School at the Regional Science Fair on March 14. John Thomas Turpin earned third place in the engineering division. In the physical science division, Julia Blouin earned third place, and Summer Feiste won first place.


Seventh-grade science teachers Adriana Kurfess and Jen Ellison guided students through each step of the scientific process for the projects.
