CLEMSON — Middle and high school coaches, administrators, counselors, teachers, parents and student-athletes can learn about the changes that will effect eligibility for the NCAA at the “GPA to Play” Athletic Eligibility Conference sponsored by Clemson University’s Athletic Leadership Program.

The conference will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12, in the Student Senate Chambers on the Clemson campus prior to Clemson’s spring football game.

There will be presentations by the NCAA, Clemson University coaches, athletic administrators, Athletic Leadership program faculty and others about the new rules, which will effect current high school sophomores and younger students. Among the topics to be covered are eligibility rules, core course requirements and test scores.

Enrollment is limited and participants should pre-register by March 1 on the registration website. A $50 deposit is required for the not-for-profit event; the final cost (less than $100) will be determined by the number of registrants.

Clemson’s Athletic Leadership Program offers a concentration in intercollegiate athletic leadership as part of the online Master of Human Resource Development degree program in the Eugene T. Moore School of Education. The athletic leadership concentration provides aspiring and current coaches an opportunity to develop leadership skills and knowledge that will promote human performance, athletic counseling and ethical decision-making in today’s athletic world.
