PICKENS – A series of Carolina Canning Workshops will be presented by the Clemson Extension Food Safety Agent Adair Hoover over the next few months.
Water Bath Canning for Tomatoes is on July 14, Pressure Canning Green Beans is on July 17 and Pickling Hamburger Dills is on Aug. 7.
Classes include a hands-on canning experience; instructions on using USDA tested methods to process foods; a current edition of the Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving and an item canned in class.

Workshops are held at the Pickens County Clemson Extension office, 222 W. Main St. The cost for each workshop is $30 per person. Class spaces are limited and registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
