SENECA — For the fifth year in a row, the World of Energy plans to host free outdoor movie nights this summer for the community to enjoy.

The first movie is scheduled for June 13, beginning at 9 p.m. and will feature Disney’s 3D computer-animated musical film “Frozen.” Complimentary frozen treats will be served to moviegoers prior to the start of the movie.

On Aug. 1, at 9 p.m., “The LEGO Movie” will play on the outdoor screen. This Warner Brothers film is the first ever full-length theatrical LEGO adventure.

Outdoor movie night is a community-wide event that is free and open to the public.

“We are excited to be hosting this event again this year,” said BJ Gatten, communications manager for the World of Energy. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to come out and enjoy the grounds and the lake here at the World of Energy and take in a movie at the same time.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and snacks, or snacks will be available for purchase. Guests can also watch the movie from the shoreline in their boat on Lake Keowee. No pets or alcoholic beverages are permitted.

Limited parking will be available at the World of Energy, and additional parking is available across the street from the World of Energy entrance on Hwy 130 and will be marked with directional signs. Complimentary shuttle service from the overflow parking area to the World of Energy will be provided, as well as transportation to the lake’s peninsula for those who need it.

For more information, directions or in case of bad weather, check the World of Energy’s website, www.duke-energy.com/worldofenergy or call (800) 777-1004.
