PICKENS — Twenty-six teachers from across the School District of Pickens County were honored by their peers as the 2014-2015 Teachers of the Year and will have the opportunity to apply for the School District of Pickens County Teacher of the Year.


The following were selected as 2014-2015 Teachers of the Year:


Courtney Vaughan of Ambler Elementary School; Donna Williams of Central Elementary School; Kim Wood of Chastain Road Elementary School; Jennifer Sheriff of Clemson Elementary School; Elizabeth Johnson of Crosswell Elementary School; Anna Nichols of Dacusville Elementary School; Toni Johnson of Dacusville Middle School; Rachel Jones of Daniel High School; James Adams of Easley High School; Kitty Adams of East End Elementary School; Lucius Culpepper of Edwards Middle School; Stacy Bullard of Forest Acres Elementary School; Holly Harden of Gettys Middle School; Janice Garrison of Hagood Elementary School; Lynn Williams of Holly Springs Elementary School; Lindsey Stone of A.R. Lewis Elementary School; Jessica Satterfield of Liberty Elementary School; Amy Hendricks of Liberty High School; Mary Helen Oliver of Liberty Middle School; Jared Roper of McKissick Elementary School; Tim Hiott of Pickens County Career & Technology Center; Nikki Miller of Pickens Elementary School; Karen Williamson of Pickens High School; Avis Fisher of Pickens Middle School; Susan Orr of Six Mile Elementary School; and Belle Graver of West End Elementary School.


During the summer, Jan Burroughs, the current School District of Pickens County Teacher of the Year, will chair a committee to select the new district teacher of the year. Four honor roll teachers will be announced. The committee will then interview the honor roll teachers and select the district winner.


The announcement of the 2014-2015 SDPC Teacher of the Year will be made at the SDPC Back to School


Celebration on Aug. 15.
