PICKENS — Michaela Hurst, Caycie Hurst and Madison Porter, members of the Ladies Varsity Shooting Team, won first place in Skeet & Trap Team at the state competition. Michaela Hurst also won High Overall Ladies Varsity in Skeet & Trap.

Volunteer/leader training


A State Volunteer Leaders Symposium will be held Aug. 9 in Columbia. Training sessions will cover horses, livestock, science, healthy lifestyles as well as club management ideas.

Leaders Conference


A Southern Regional Leaders Conference will be held Oct. 2 through Oct. 5 at Rock Eagle Conference Center in Georgia. The theme is “Framing our Future: Building our Best.” The cost is $300 if paid by Aug. 26 or $350 after Aug. 26. The program is open to any volunteer. S.C. 4-H will provide a van or bus if there are enough volunteers signed up to go.
