PICKENS — Baseball and softball registration will be taken through March 7 at the Pickens Recreation Center on Sangamo Road in Pickens. Following registration, a skills/evaluation day will be held for each age division.
The registration fee is $45 for in-city residents and $55 for out-of-city residents. The fee provides a jersey and cap for each player.
For Tee Ball, Pitching Machine and Baseball, the league age is the age attained by the participant prior to May 1, 2014. The birth date for girls softball is their age as of Dec. 31, 2013. Birth certificates are required at registration.
The age divisions being offered include the following Instructional (co-ed) for age 4; Tee Ball/Coaches Pitch (co-ed) for ages 5 and 6; and Pitching Machine (co-ed) for ages 7 and 8.
Boys Baseball will have Minors (ages 9 and 10), Youth (ages 11 and 12), Boys (ages 13 and 14) and Majors (ages 15 to 18).
Girls Softball will have Darlings (ages 7 and 8), Angels (ages 9 and 10), Ponytails (ages 11 and 12) and Belles (ages 13 to 15).

Y2Y 10K Challenge is April 26
PICKENS — The Pickens County YMCA holds the Y2Y 10K Challenge on April 26. Participants will run from the Easley YMCA to the Pickens YMCA, which is exactly 10K or 6.2 miles. Participants will park at the Pickens YMCA and be taken to the Easley Y at 7:10 a.m. The race will start at 7:30 a.m.
