Easley Litttle League to begin signups Jan. 3

EASLEY — The Easley Little League will begin singups Jan. 3 at the Larry Bagwell Gym in the J.B. Owens Recreation Complex.

Signups will be 6 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Sundays and will last until Feb. 12.

Fees are $70 for city residents, or $90 for out-of-city residents.

The draft date will be Saturday, Feb. 26. Drafts for the coach’s pitch league (ages 7-8) will be held 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Drafts for the Minor League (ages 9-10) will be held 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Drafts for the Major League (ages 11-12) will be held 3 p.m.-5 p.m.

Practice begins Tuesday, March 1. Opening day and picture day will be Saturday, April 2. Diamond Day is set for Saturday, May 7.

Anyone interested in serving as a head coach or an assistant coach should apply now. All coaches must pass a background check.

All players in the 2011 Easley Little League will be accepted from outside the designated boundary unless they have a previous waiver on file. No waivers will be granted unless given by Little League Inc. The Easley Little League Board has voted not to give waivers this season.

To signup, players must:

• Live ins the boundary.

• Have both birth certificate. No copies will be accepted. Little League officials will make copies.

• Must have three proofs of residence. Examples include a drivers license, utility bill, school record, voter registration, insurance document, etc. Parents are encouraged to bring more than three proofs of residence and allow league officials to select the three that fit best.
