CLEMSON – A Greenville man was arrested on felony theft charges after authorities said he took a golf cart from the Clemson University campus after a football game.

Marshall Dean Hinds, 23, of 101 Pine Gate Drive was charged with grand larceny, according to arrest warrants.

Clemson University police said Hinds was stopped in the golf cart on College Ave. in downtown Clemson after the Clemson-Miami football game on Oct. 2. Police say the golf cart was taken from Clemson University’s Fike Recreation Center.

According to warrants, the Club Car golf cart valued at close to $6,000.

Clemson spokesperson John Gouch said Hinds is not a Clemson student or employee.

Hinds was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond, according to Gouch.
