CENTRAL — Southern Wesleyan University will send approximately 200 volunteers to a dozen sites March 19 providing assistance organizing food pantries, doing landscaping and trail work, and socializing with senior citizens.

During this first annual Day of Service, students will discover ways that simple acts of service impact the surrounding community. Organized by Southern Wesleyan’s Student Life office, Day of Service will involve nearly 150 students and 50 faculty and staff members.

Project locations are: Asbury Hills Camp and Retreat Center, Foothills Trail, Table Rock State Park, Cannon Memorial Hospital, Potter’s Place, Golden Corner Ministries, “Hundred Acre Wood” at SWU, Golden Harvest Food Bank, Gleaning House, Clemson Downs and Sterling House retirement community.
