PICKENS — St. Matthias Lutheran recently held its 12th Annual Golf Tournament at Pickens County Country Club. Twenty donors of gift/prizes and fifteen hole sponsors assured a success for all.

Barbecue lunch was catered by Mutts from Easley

Awards for the top three teams, longest drive and closest to the pin were presented to the winners.

The tournament raised some $1900 for charity which will be matched by $1200 from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Funds will be awarded to Good Samaritan Alliance and Piedmont Emergency Relief Center (PERC) to assist in support for the less fortunate in Pickens and Anderson Counties.

Warren Lutz, chairman of the Golf Committee at St. Matthias said, “We are pleased with the overall results and the fine support we always get from our church members each year. We have already begin planning for our 13th annual tournament in the Spring of 2011.”
