Celebrate Father’s Day

Father’s Day is June 16 and The Easley Progress and the Powdersville Post would like to publish our readers’ fondest childhood memories of their fathers in our June 14 edition. Submissions should be 200 words or less. Each submission can be accompanied by a photo of the writer’s father, which will also be published.

To have a memory of your father published for Father’s Day, email it to ladamson@civitasmedia.com, drop it by our office at 205 Russell St. in Easley or mail it to us at P.O. Box 709, Easley, SC 29641. All emailed photos should be high-resolution JPEGs. Photos of poor quality will not be used. Illegible submissions will not be accepted. The deadline for submissions is June 10.

PICKENS COUNTY – A toddler is dead after drowning at a home in Easley.

According to a press release issued by Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley, 15-month-old Tylan Gosnell of Greenville was found floating face down in a swimming pool Wednesday afternoon at a home on Cannon Lane in Easley.

Gosnell was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead just after 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Kelley said that an autopsy was scheduled for Friday.
