EASLEY – Young grapplers in the Easley area will now have another opportunity to perfect their skills on the mat as the Limitless Wrestling Club opens its second year.

“Limitless Wrestling is a program that we’re building to help increase our level of skill for the high school team,” said Jeff Harris, head varsity coach “It gives the kids another season to stay on the mat and take their skills to a higher level.”

Harris also said that the program was designed to improve the wrestling program already in place.

“We want our guys to come in and get more time on the mat because wrestling is all about experience and not how strong or fast you are,” Harris said. “Wrestling is all about the knowledge you have on the mat and what we love about the offseason and the open tournaments is they will wrestle kids from out-of-state.”

Harris said that wrestling kids from other states will make his team well-rounded.

According to Harris, club wrestling is an important aspect of growing the sport and improving its quality in the region.

“Right now at Easley High School, we are a very young team,” Harris said. “We just graduated three seniors and will have only two seniors this fall. Limitless Wrestling will provide the best opportunity for our kids to get more mat time and to get more experienced. This program will not only improve the wrestling at Easley High School but also the wrestling in the entire region.”

The Limitless Wrestling Club meets very Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Easley High School through the end of July and welcomes all ages.

“We are very excited about the program getting kids at an early age involved in the sport of wrestling,” Harris said. “They will be able to hone their skills at a young age so when they do get to the high school level, they will be more prepared.”

Harris said that once a quality wrestling program can become established in the area, his coaching staff at Easley High School will not have to spend time teaching the basics to high school level wrestlers.

“We could have more intense practices and get our program to a much higher level,” Harris said.

Limitless Wrestling is coached by Adam Kern, Jeff Harris, Zach Klebe, and Warren Buckley.
