Donations sought for Cannon’s 5th Annual Festival of Wreaths

PICKENS — Planning is underway for Cannon’s 5th annual Festival of Wreaths and the hospital is looking for businesses, organizations or individuals to donate decorated wreaths for the event.

Wreaths will be put on display beginning on November 26th in the hospital’s main lobby area and will remain on display until December 7th , during which time individuals can come and view the wreaths. On December 7 th the hospital will conclude its Festival of Wreaths with a “Winterfest” holiday bazaar and bake sale from 8am to 5pm. Local handmade items, along with the displayed wreaths will be on sale at the bazaar. Items include handmade soaps, jewelry, glassware and more. All of the items are made by hospital volunteers and employees. The bazaar is open to the public.

Donated wreaths for the Festival of Wreaths will be accepted anytime before December 7. Any size of wreath will be accepted and it can be decorated in any type of holiday cheer. All wreaths should be made of artificial materials. No live wreaths can be displayed in the hospital. All of the proceeds from the event go to the Auxiliary’s fundraising efforts to pay the remainder of their pledge for the purchase of a new dishwasher for the hospital.

If you have further questions or are interested in donating a wreath to this year’s Festival of Wreaths, contact Amanda Dow at 898-1252 or via e-mail at adow@cmhsc.org.
