Fitness Center groundbreaking is Saturday

POWDERSVILLE — Total Fitness and the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce is preparing for a groundbreaking celebration on Saturday.

The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will take place beside the current location of Total Fitness and will feature free food, door prizes, local vendors, and a Christian DJ.

“As the owners of Total Fitness, we would like to take this opportunity to invite the residents of Anderson, Greenville, and Pickens County to the ground breaking ceremony for our new mega family wellness complex,” said Emery Williams, owner of Total Fitness. “The complex will house an indoor junior Olympic-length pool, basketball court, indoor track, steam room, whirlpool, kids club, ladies only center, tanning, physical therapy salon, aerobics studio and so much more.”

The event will also feature a ribbon cutting and gold shovel ceremony by the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce.

“We are very excited for Total Fitness and their membership to the chamber, and we are happy with their expansion as it will bring more jobs to Powdersville. We support the Total Fitness Family Center,” said Membership Coordinator of the Easley Chamber of Commerce, Leisa Achterhoff.

Williams said he will use the event to make several other announcements to the community.

“We will also be announcing the conception of a new faith based 501 not for profit youth sports association for our region,” he said. ” The name of the association is the “Powdersville Youth Sports Association (PYSA). Our slogan is: Taking our children into the future by teaching biblical principals through sports. We will be donating 10 acres of our current land to this association to be developed into a multi-field sports complex. It is our hope that this complex can bring the Easley, Wren and Powdersville area together through sports and fitness.

“We would like to thank all of you that voted us as the best fitness center in our area. We look forward to our celebration and to getting a lot of families in shape this year. Our mission is to serve the Anderson, Greenville, and Pickens County areas with a family friendly and Godly atmosphere,” Williams said.
