EASLEY—Three teams will make their debut in the 2012 Big League World Series Thursday at the JB “Red” Owens Recreation Complex in Easley.
After having the day off on Wednesday’s opening day, Clearwater, FL (Southeast Region Champion), Cumberland, NJ (East Region Champion) and Windsor, Ontario (Canadian Champion) will get into their first game action in the series.
The Florida team plays Central Champion Indiana at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Florida is coming off a victory in the Southeast Regional, where they defeated Greenville, SC, which won the Big League World Series, while Indiana opened the World Series Wednesday with a 1-0 win over the Host team from SC District 1 (Easley).
The New Jersey team plays West Champion California at 7:30 p.m. New Jersey went undefeated in winning its region. California defeated Texas (Southwest Champion) 4-0 in its opening game Wednesday.
The Windsor, Ontario team, which did not win the Canadian championship until Sunday night plays Italy, which won the Europe/Middle East/Africa championship, lost 5-3 to Venezuela (Latin American champion) Wednesday.
