POWDERSVILLE – In partnership with the Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center (GHS), Baptist Easley will expand its services to include the Powdersville Medical Center and MD360.

“The MD360 is an urgent care center, and this one in Powdersville will be the fourth MD360 that the Greenville Hospital System has opened. It will provide services seven days a week with extended hours, so if you are sick or injured, you can walk in with no appointment needed,” said Allison Greene, manager of market development and public relations for Baptist Easley.

The center will be directed by James Ellis, MD, and will be staffed by GHS physicians.

“We’re committed to supporting practices that refer patients to MD360 by updating medical records, communicating developments, and recommending follow-up care with outside physicians making the process as seamless as possible for every patient,” Ellis said.

Barbara Sue Repik, MD, will be joining the staff at MD360 and is board-certified in Internal Medicine.

“There’s nothing like it in our community. MD360 is staffed with all board-certified physicians, specifically qualified to provide superior patient-centered care. For someone with a hectic schedule, or even someone who doesn’t have a doctor, that person can walk in, be seen and treated appropriately, have labs and X-rays done right there, and be taken care of immediately. If you should need further care, surgery or orthopaedics, you are referred immediately next door. If you don’t have a regular doctor, you will be set up with one before you leave,” Repik said.

Dr. Repik has experience in traditional primary care as well as Emergency care.

“Emergency rooms get bogged down with non-emergent cases. An urgent care center treats bronchitis, a fall or break, ear infections, not a heart attack, stroke or trauma. An urgent care center alleviates the load on the emergency department, allowing it to focus on true emergencies. It’s a more appropriate cost structure as well,” Repik said.

MD360 will provide comprehensive urgent and episodic care to patients of all ages.

The hours will be Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The medical center in Powdersville is located at Hwy 81 and McNeely Road (behind CVS on Hwy 153), and will hold an Open House on Sunday Jan. 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. so that medical center officials can field questions from the public and provide tours.

The Powdersville Medical Center will open by Jan. 29.
