PICKENS COUNTY – Lifelong resident of Pickens County and 1986 graduate of Easley High School, Lt. Ronnie Greene of the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, is doing something he had is eye on since junior high.
“After a career day in junior high school, I focused on becoming a police officer and waited until I was 21 years old to make a career in law enforcement,” Greene said.
He worked at Anderson Auto Parts until joining the Easley Police Department in 1989.
Greene graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in 1990 and stayed with the Easley Police Department for five years.
He joined the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office in 1994 as a road patrol officer.
“I decided to make a change to the sheriff’s office to open the door for more opportunities,” Greene said.
He was placed on the traffic team in 1998 and graduated from Tri-County Technical College in 2000 with a degree in Criminal Justice.
Greene was promoted to sergeant in 2005 and was returned to road patrol.
He was promoted to lieutenant in 2007 where he remains today.
Greene is a firearms instructor and holds a data master certification.
He is a married father of two.
