“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.”

2 Corinthians 8:9

Has anyone ever left their comfort zone to help you become rich? I have never had anyone give up their riches for me (here on earth) so that I would gain wealth. So when I started studying “Self Confrontation” and took the exams to be a counselor that is when I began to realize just how much Jesus loves me.

We can’t really know all that Jesus gave up for us, but we can imagine. Imagine Jesus in all His glory.... He has a palace, white robe, crowns, angels at His feet, streets of Gold, every beautiful, good thing you can possibly think of with His Father; all magnificent works of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

What if you had all that and more? Would you leave it all behind in order to help someone else? Jesus did. He left His home (Heaven) and came here to this earth to free us so we could live with Him forever. He came here where He walked on dirt roads didn’t eat very much, slept very littlAe, prayed a lot and fasted a lot. It was if someone threw Him in a giant mud hole filled with every nasty imaginable thing. Then he was beaten and stripped of all cloths and made fun of. He was humiliated in front of thousands of people and His mother. ALL for you and me, and anyone who wants the free gift of salvation that His wonderful love and blood provided. He lived in this sinful world and He was sinless. He was treated so bad and spat on and cursed at. He could have called all of heaven to deliver Him from it all and take Him back to heaven. But....because of God’s amazing mercy and love He sent His only Son to save us so we could live and be heir’s of the Kingdom of God. That is the Love we should want to display; to give up what we have to help someone else. We are a selfish people, so to do this would really speak volumes to lost people.

Focus- Let’s all do something to help someone else this season.

Tiny Prayer

Lord God, guide me daily in doing the right things. I thank you for leaving Heaven for me that I may live. I pray I can do something each day to make a difference in someone else’s life. I love You Jesus, and thank You for loving me. Amen
