UPSTATE— The date for the next Honor Flight for WWII veterans from the upstate is set for September 20, 2011. The four Sheriff’s Offices, Greenville, Anderson, Oconee and Pickens, are involved in fund raising efforts to support this and future flights.

Spinx Company recently prsented a check to Sheriff David Stone to help cover the costs of the trips.

Stone said, “We are grateful to Stewart Spinks and his organization for their support of Honor Flight and for making this flight possible. We challenge other individuals, businesses or corporations to help in the manner that Spinx has done to honor these WWII Veterans.”

Deputies of the four Sheriff’s Offices are presently selling “Honor Flight” tee shirts to support the program. Any civic club, church or community group that would like a program on Honor Flight is encouraged to contact your local Sheriff’s office.
