Deputies with Pickens County Sheriff’s Office have obtained warrants on Teddy Austin Arnold, charging him with “Threatening the life of a public official” and “Unlawful use of a telephone.” Arnold is presently in the Greenville County Detention Center on unrelated charges. He will be transferred to Pickens County once he is released from Greenville.

These charges stem from a call to Pickens County Communications center about 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 24 threatening to shoot Sheriff David Stone.

This subject has an extensive criminal record spanning South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida. His 144 page rap sheet consist of numerous charges including burglaries, grand larcenies, kidnapping, second degree murder, unlawful carrying of a weapon, malicious injury to property, second degree arson, assault and battery as well as numerous driving offences such as failure to stop.

It is unclear what motivated Arnold’s threat against Sheriff Stone.
