EASLEY - Martha Jean Abbott, 78, of Rotterdam Road, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.

Born in Clinton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Claude C. and Annie Mae Evans Abbott. She was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Kyle Whitfield of the home; a brother, Tommy Abbott and his wife, Lyda Snyder of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Abbott and Sarah Abbott; one grandson, Nicholas Whitfield; one granddaughter, Amanda Whitfield; one niece, Ann Tinsley Walker and her children, Justin and Tyler; and several first cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland-West Cemetery in Greenville.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.
