MINOT, N.D. - One of the world's strongest women, Shannon Pole-Summers, of Easley, was arrested Thursday in Minot, N.D. on Pickens County charges of assault and battery with intent to kill, burglary, grand larceny and identity fraud, warrants said.
Pole-Summers of 307 Hamburg Drive, appeared on "Ripley's Believe It or Not" while pulling a school bus.
She is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds, according to the police report.
Because she waived extradition from North Dakota, Pole-Summers could be returned to Pickens County within eight days, according to Assistant Sheriff Tim Morgan.
"There is a lot of technology out there today that makes it very difficult for people to hide," Morgan said, adding that she could be facing "significant jail time."
"Assault and battery with the intent to kill could carry up to 20 years just by itself," he said.
That charge is a result of an incident alleged to have taken place in December 2005, according to Central Police Chief Kerry Avery.
"It was some type of home invasion," Avery continued.
The larceny charge stems from an alleged incident reported by Pole-Summers' parents - Francine Pole and Carl Summers.
"The suspect had stolen all the guns and several other items that were missing from the home. After calling numerous pawn shops it was determined that (Pole-Summers) had pawned several guns along with other items," the report said.
