EASLEY - Authorities have ruled a structure fire at a detached garage on Zion School Road accidental.

Easley firefighters responded to the fire just before 11 a.m. in the Easley Fire District of Pickens County, said Capt. John Willis.

The fire was located in a garage detached from the home on the property, Willis said.

No one was at home at the time of firefighter's arrival, but the homeowners did arrive later, Willis said.

"There were no reported injuries as a result of the fire," Willis said.

Firefighters got the blaze under control within 20 minutes, Willis said, but another four hours was spent salvaging and overhauling the scene.

"The structure and its contents suffered heavy damage as a result of the fire," Willis said.

Two pumper trucks and a service truck responded to the incident, he said.

The fire was investigated by the Cause and Origin Team of the Easley Fire department as well as the Pickens County Sheriff's Office which ruled the fire accidental, Willis said.
