Carl Donald Barnes

Carl Donald Barnes, 67, husband of the late Linda Gail Crumley Barnes, passed from this life Monday, July 16, 2012.

Don was born in Greenville County, son of the late Carl Leroy and Marcelle Ramey Barnes. He was a Baptist and retired truck driver.

Don was a U. S. Army veteran of Viet Nam and he was an avid NASCAR fan and outdoorsman with a love of fishing.

Survivors include his daughter, JoAnn Barnes and son, Kenneth Wayne Barnes both of Greenville, step-children, Troy and Michael Dill, grandson Donnie Barnes of Easley, and Timothy Dill of Greenville, and three great grandchildren, also sisters, Judy Atkins (Dan) of Pickens, and Sandra Durham and Betty Durham (Wade) all of Easley.

He is also survived by his furry friends, Buster, Bobo, and Smokey.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Don was preceded in death by a son Timothy Barnes and sister Linda Atkins.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 PM Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Dillard Funeral Home with funeral services following at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens with military honors.

The family will gather at the home of a sister and brother-in-law Judy and Dan Atkins, 5060 Dacusville Highway, Marietta, SC.
