EASLEY—A slate of four games and the “Parade of Teams” are scheduled in a full day of activities during the Saturday’s fourth day of the Big League World Series at the Red Owens Recreation Complex in Easley.

The Easley-based host team and Florida, the Southeast Region champion play in a match-up of two 1-1 teams in the late game at 7:30 p.m. The winner will move into a tie for second place in US pool play with California, 2-1. Indiana, which defeated California 8-1 Friday, leads the US pool with a 3-0 record.

The day begins with a 9 a.m. game between Puerto Rico and Canada. Puerto Rico, 2-0, has been dominant so far, outscoring (16-2) and out-hitting (25-3) opponents so far. Three Puerto Rico pitchers combined for a no-hitter in a 7-0 victory over Italy Friday. A win Saturday would almost assure Puerto Rico of a spot in Tuesday’s International semi-finals. Canada, 0-2, lost to Venezuela, 10-0, Friday.

Venezuela, the other 2-0, the Latin America champion, faces the Philippines, winners of the Asia/Pacific Region at 11:30 a.m. Venezuela defeated Canada Friday in a game called in the bottom of the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule. The Phillipines are playing their first game since Wednesday, when they lost 9-2 to Puerto Rico.

At 2 p.m., New Jersey, champion of the East Region, plays Texas, the Southwest champion. Both teams are 0-2 in the series. New Jersey lost, 8-4, to the Easley-based host team Friday, while Texas lost, 4-3, to Florida, the Southeast Region winner.

A Parade of Teams, featuring all 11 teams in the Big League World Series, is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by the 7:30 p.m. nightcap between Easley and Florida.

Admission to all games Saturday is free for all kids wearing Little League uniforms.
