Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Parley and Mary Finley Holcombe, Mr. Holcombe, along with his wife, Mary Ann, are owners of Holcombe Welding and Steel Erectors. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Pickens County Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Willimon Holcombe of the home; a son, Barry Wayne Holcombe of Anderson; three daughters, Tammy Yvonne Saucier of Pelzer, LaJuan Evatt and Misty Michelle Moore, both of Easley; two brothers, Johnny Holcombe of Pickens and Roy Holcombe of Easley; six sisters, Jewell Durham of Gaffney, Vera Jamison of Greenville, Elizabeth Gibson, Bertha Patterson, Earlene Roper and Beatrice Gantt, all of Easley; seven grandchildren, McKenzie Holcombe, Davis Holcombe, Tiffany Robinson, Danielle Fulmer, Tony McGowens, T.J. McGowens and Cassidy Evatt; and a great-grandson, Maddox Robinson.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Holcombe was predeceased by a son, Robert Anthony "Tony" Moore, a brother, James Holcombe and a sister, Eula Hudson.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2009, at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
