PICKENS — Ned Tillman Owens, 86, husband of Inez C. Owens, passed from this life Monday evening, January 28, 2013.

Mr. Owens was born in Easley, a son of the late Jim and Willie Cooper Owens. He was an active life-long member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Easley where he had served as an usher, greeter, and Steward of the church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and he was retired from Ryobi Motor Products in Pickens.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Inez Childress Owens of the home, daughter, Carolyn Owens Johnson (Chester) of Pickens, grandchildren, Marty Owens (Tonya), Chad Reeves, Heather Owens Wilkins, and Corey Reeves (Brittani) and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Fred Owens (Lillian) of Easley and a sister, Jane Patterson (Ralph) also of Easley.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his son, Mark Owens and a brother, Leon Owens.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 PM Thursday, January 31, 2013 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Easley with funeral services at 3 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens in Pickens.
