PICKENS – A Greenville teen now faces charges in connection with a shooting incident outside a Pickens convenience store Friday that ended with one dead and one injured.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the Hasty Mart near the Town Creek Shopping Center, according to Pickens Police Chief Tommy Ellenburg.

Nineteen-year-old Chaz Isreal Robinson, of 355 Welborn Road, was shot in the chest, Coroner Kandy Kelley said.

Robinson was pronounced dead during surgery at Greenville Memorial Hospital, she said.

Another teen, Steven Alan Bryant, 19, a resident of Pickens County, was also shot in during the incident, according to police.

He was treated and released at Greenville Memorial, Ellenburg said.

Police arrested Harold David Tenant Jr., 17, of 168 Twin Oaks Drive, Greenville, at the scene, according to the incident report.

He was later charged with murder and assault and battery with intent to kill in connection with the incident.

Tenant is being held without bond, Ellenburg said.

The Pickens Police Department continues to investigate the case.

“We’re interviewing several others that were in the area,” Ellenburg told The Sentinel. “We don’t know if there will be other arrests.”
