Liberty Idol to start back up tonight

LIBERTY— Liberty Idol will officially start its 2009 season on Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. This is will be the fourth year for the contest.

The contest will take place in downtown Liberty. Some downtown roads will be blocked off for the contest.

Liberty Idol has added several new things to it this year. The contestants will be performing on a new stage. There are several new sponsors this year, each of which brings fun additions to the show. Liberty Idol will also have a golf tournament this year on July 17.

The contest will continue each Saturday night through July 18. Auditions begin Saturday, April 25 at the Rosewood Center at 12 p.m. Auditions will run April 25, May 2, May 9, and May 15.

There will be two guest judges for the first week of competition. Kevin Lewis from the New York Giants will be a guest judge, along with Lisa Rollins from WORD. There will also be an empty seat at the judges table in remembrance of Bill Barringer, who pasted a way last month. He was a huge part of Liberty Idol, attending every event.

The slogan this year for Liberty Idol is “Bigger and better than ever!” Roy Costner and his crew ask you to come out and join the fun, food, and talent each Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Do not forget to bring your lounge chairs and get ready to vote for your favorite contestants or audition to win the grand prize.
