Shannon Lee Smith, 36, of 213 Dusty Drive, Easley, was charged with two counts of unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person, according to arrest warrants served last Thursday.
According to incident reports, the two 4-month-olds were taken from their home March 22.
The S.C. Department of Social Services notified detective Rita Burgess of the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office last Tuesday that one of the babies tested positive for methamphetamine, and the other tested positive for meth and cocaine, according to incident reports.
Authorities are accusing Smith of unlawfully using the drugs and allowing her daughters to be present , according to warrants.
The mother was the sole caregiver of the infant twins, according to police.
Smith is being held at the Pickens County Law Enforcement Center. Bail was set at $10,000, according to Law Enforcement Center officials.
