EASLEY -- Three World Language students from Easley High School attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2009 National Spanish Examinations.

Clara Waddell, Elizabeth Gregory and Savannah Houck earned bronze placement along with five honorable mentions (Hayden Garrett, Kathryn Hiott, Hunter Cassell, Alex Houston, Hunter Singleton).

Attaining any placement is very prestigious because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with well over 100,000 students participating in 2009.

Students from Easley High School have a long history of high achievement on these exams and were taught by Spanish teachers Monika Santiago and Brad Seabrook.

The National Spanish Examinations are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese
