EASLEY —Robinson Funeral Home and Crematory will host the showing of “D-Day, Omaha Beach” at 2 p.m., Monday,, May 25, at the Powdersville Road location.
Admission is Free; for the 70-minute presentation; this is Robinson’s gift to the community in honor of those who gave so much for our country and the greater good. The special guest and keynote speaker for the film presentation is award winning filmmaker, Larry Cappetto.
Cappetto, by promoting an understanding and appreciation for our country’s rich heritage and unique freedoms in his powerful documentary series has recently received the prestigious George Washington Honor Medal award from the Freedom’s Foundation.
Cappetto has become part of an historically prestigious group of American citizens that advance the American ideal.
Cappetto’s work is a unique and limited opportunity to compile the stories of great American veterans, and to communicate to subsequent generations the first-hand accounts of their service to our country, through his documentary film series, “Lest They Be Forgotten.” Cappetto’s film, “Vietnam – Remembered,” was chosen to be screened at the 2008 annual G.I. Film Festival in Washington, D.C.
The “Lest They Be Forgotten” film series is comprised of 9 films, honoring veterans from D-Day, Iwo Jima, and other WWII stories and Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Cappetto is currently working on his 10th and 11th films on the Holocaust and the Battle of the Bulge, respectively.
