EASLEY — As of press time, Easley police have not made any arrests in a possible sexual assault of a woman and her 4-year-old daughter.

According to an incident report, the 36-year-old woman reported to police Monday that she was given a drugged Mountain Dew, and after passing out, several men sexually assaulted her at her home.

She reported that the incident happened Saturday and that she drifted in and out of consciousness until Monday, when she contacted police, the report states.

The victim provided a written statement to police.

She said she could not give an exact number of alleged assailants, but described them all as black males in their late teens, the report states.

Her daughter was present at the time, and based on an interview policed conducted with her, the hospital tested the child for possible penetration.

The child’s grandmother was present during the interview.

She told police, “Mommy was asleep while the boys jumped on her,” the report states.

Police are investigating the case as possible aggravated assault and forcible fondling.

The victim allowed police and a representative from the Rape Crisis Center to search for physical evidence in her home, according to the report.

They retrieved several items with possible physical evidence, the report stated.

One of the accused men is an 17-year-old the victim says she allowed to “hang out” in her home, along with some of his friends.

I am curious to know why any 36 yr old grown woman would let a 17 yr old who is not their child "hang out" with them and bring friends along as well. I do hope the child was not harmed and I feel bad for the woman if in fact this was a real sexual assault. But it seems this could have been avoided if the woman had made better choices in who she "hangs" with.
