PICKENS ─ Pickens police arrested a second person Monday afternoon in connection with a break-in at Foothills Gun & Pawn.

Travis Antonio Mansell, 20, of 805 W. Lee St., Pickens, was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A 14-year-old was arrested at the scene and charged with second degree burglary following the break-in last Wednesday, June 17.

According to the incident report, police believe Mansell and the teen gained entry into the pawn shop by breaking out the glass window.

After hearing an alarm going off in town, an officer started searching for the source and found a man lying on the ground on E. Cedar Rock Street bleeding from his right wrist, according to the report.

The man told police three men in a tan truck “jumped him” and “threw him through the store window,” the report states.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to Gail Few with the Pickens Police Department.

Surveillance camera footage showed two people try to pry the door of the shop open with a screw driver several times before jumping up and down on a bench and then breaking the glass to make entry, according to the report.

During a search of the premises, police found an orange screw driver with blood, the report states.

Mansell was released Tuesday on a total of $20,000 in surety bonds, Few said.
