CENTRAL – By October, the town of Central hopes to have an application for a rural development grant sent off. This grant consists of stimulus money that will be used to help officials fix up part of the town.

The stimulus funds offered are first-come first-serve, so Town Administrator, Phillip Mishoe said this is a top priority for the town right now.

“We may not get another opportunity like this, so we need to take what’s given to us,” said Mishoe. “I am working very hard on the grant to make sure everything is filled out correctly. It’s a difficult grant to apply for and it’s taking a lot of time but it’s important because it’s crucial money. It would really help us out.”

The grant has to be completed correctly and turned in by October. The town should hear news on the grant by January or February of 2010.
