Am I thinking straight?

A few days ago, I read with a great deal of interest, the saga of the female sea turtle that came ashore on the beach in Florida and laid her eggs in the sand to hatch.

I noted that there is a $10,000 fine for destroying one of these eggs because the sea turtle is in danger of extinction.

It should be obvious to anyone why it is against the law to destroy one of those turtle eggs. The obvious fact is that there is a turtle in the egg.

Many of these same people who praise the law and agree that to destroy a turtle egg destroys a turtle’s life, would say that it is a woman’s right to have an abortion and destroy a human life.

Certainly, if you destroy a turtle by destroying a turtle egg, you destroy a human being by destroying a embryo or a fetus. To state otherwise is the height of hypocrisy.

A $10,000 fine is a stiff penalty for destroying an egg that may or may not be fertilized in the first place.

And if it is, the little turtle’s chances of survival (if it hatches) is one in 50.

Compare this with the fact that a human embryo or fetus has a survival rate of about 10,000 to one. The human fetus is almost certain to survive.

Our society has stopped to a new low when a turtle’s life is so valuable and a human’s life is disregarded. Something is wrong when our moral values are so twisted.

Do you consider abortion a sin or a choice? God help us to return to the value of life. We are created in His image.

According to God’s Word, murder is murder and murder is a sing.

Again I ask, am I thinking straight?
