EASLEY — Violet Stone Porter, 90, formerly of 103 North Dale Drive, died Thursday, Aug.6, 2009, at Easley Living Center.
Mrs. Porter was born in Greenwood County, a daughter of the late Thomas Edgar Stone Sr. and Cora Cecilia Slaten Stone. She worked at Mayfair Mill - Glenwood Division for 49 years and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.
Surviving are sisters, Mildred S. Holcombe and Dorothy S. Griffith, both of Easley and Doris S. Ellison of Monroe, Ga.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Porter, brothers, Gordon Stone and Tom Stone, Jr., a baby brother, Benny Stone; and a sister, Margaret S. Grant.
Graveside Services were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Dale McCoig officiating.
